What your Mars sign is

Mars is the planet of action in astrology. Your Mars sign is read as the way you go after what you want, how you compete, how quickly your temper rises and how you show physical desire. Venus describes what attracts you; Mars describes how you pursue it.

Mars usually takes about six weeks to cross a sign, but every two years or so it turns retrograde and can stay in one sign for six or seven months. That is why people born months apart may share a Mars sign, and why the result marks a retrograde Mars, which tradition reads as energy turned inward.

The date is normally enough. When Mars changed sign on your birth date and you do not know the time, the result names both signs and the hour of the change. Place only sets the time zone.
