How transits are read
A transit is a planet in today's sky making an aspect to a point in your birth chart. Astrologers use transits for timing: the theme of the natal planet is said to be stirred by the moving one for as long as the aspect lasts.
Slow planets give long transits. Saturn or Pluto can sit on a natal point for months, while Mercury passes in a few days. The Moon is left out of the list because it crosses every point within a month and would flood it. Each line shows the orb, the distance from exact, so the smallest numbers are the strongest.
Transits are worked out for noon UTC on the chosen date. The natal chart uses your exact birth time and place, and the same aspect orbs as the birth chart page.
What each aspect means in a transit
| Aspect | Angle | Orb | As a transit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Conjunction | 0° | 8° | A new cycle begins for that part of the chart |
| Sextile | 60° | 5° | An opening, if you act on it |
| Square | 90° | 7° | Pressure that asks for change |
| Trine | 120° | 7° | Things flow, help arrives |
| Opposition | 180° | 8° | Something comes to a head with others |
Orbs are 2 degrees wider when the Sun or Moon is involved.

How this is calculated
Transit positions: astronomy-engine at 12:00 UTC on the chosen date. Aspects from each transiting body (Moon excluded) to each natal Sun to Pluto with the site's one aspect table: conjunction 8, sextile 5, square 7, trine 7, opposition 8 degrees, Sun and Moon plus 2.
