How the personal year works
Numerology describes life in nine-year cycles. The personal year tells you where you are in yours: 1 is a year of starting, 9 a year of finishing, and each number between has its own mood. It changes every January 1, so the same person gets a new number each year.
Your birth month and birth day stay the same; only the year changes. Each part is reduced to one digit, the three are added, and the total is reduced, with 11, 22 and 33 kept. Adding the calendar month to the personal year gives the personal month, and adding the day of the month to that gives the personal day.
Some numerologists start the new personal year on your birthday instead of in January. This calculator uses January, the more common rule. Pick any date in the form to look ahead or back.

How this is calculated
Birth month, birth day and the calendar year of the chosen date are each reduced to one digit, added, and reduced keeping 11, 22 and 33. Personal month = personal year (masters counted as their root) + calendar month; personal day = personal month + day of the month, reduced the same way. The year turns over on January 1.
